These drugs must be authorized by Health Canada or in the process of being authorized.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"broken_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inesss.qc.ca\/thematiques\/medicaments\/approche-modalites-et-processus-devaluation.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Drug evaluation process<\/a> and criteria used by INESSS: the evaluation framework was updated in July 2018. See also the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inesss.qc.ca\/fileadmin\/doc\/INESSS\/Inscription_medicaments\/Avis_au_ministre\/Novembre_2018\/20181023_AvisMinistre_Web.pdf?fbclid=IwAR0gvFywCIc2-Q1_cfSVDvKIT4C3CZ4kSfA8hp2-2E8nxJ2gbODUvXpkMiw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Notice to the Minister published in November 2018 <\/a> which speaks of a \u00ab paradigm shift \u00bb for the evaluation of certain innovative drugs with a \u00ab promise of therapeutic value \u00bb. Doctors must make a request for their patient to the R\u00e9gie de l\u2019assurance sant\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec (RAMQ).<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramq.gouv.qc.ca\/fr\/professionnels\/optometristes\/medicaments\/medicaments-patient-exception\/Pages\/patient-exception.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">What is the program &#8220;Patient d&#8217;exception&#8221;?<\/a> A special measure which allows the doctor to request reimbursement for his patient for a medication not listed on the list of medications or which is listed for a disease other than the patient&#8217;s disease.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Other provinces and territories<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>It is <a class=\"broken_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cda-amc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canada&#8217;s Drug Agency (CDA) <\/a> which evaluates and makes recommendations for drug reimbursement in provinces and territories other than Quebec.
